The Smurfs II

There are so much new movies in the theater that I really want to see and on top of my list were the smurfs II so last tuesday I went to see it in 3D with my sister and little brother.

For me personally the smurfs are a huge part of my youth, every wednesday my sister and I spent the afternoon at 'oma and parraine's place' which meant watching ketnet from 4o'clock and one of our favourite shows was ofcourse the smurfs. We always fought about who was smurfin,we also had all the little smurf figurines that we had to divide between us and that always led to another fight because we never agreed who was getting which figurine.
Getting older the smurfs disappeared out of our lives until our little brother and nephew started watching the smurfs so it started all over again.

I loved the Smurfs I so I was a little scared that the second one was not going to be as great as the first one but those little blue ones did it again. It really was hilarious, this time the rescue team had two new members, ( we saw the movie in dutch so I'll use the dutch names) Hippe Smurf and Mopper Smurf had to safe Smurfin together with Grote Smurf and Klungel. I really liked that the family from the first movie came back to help them and that they added two new family members, their son Blue and the stepdad of Patrick. There are so much funny scenes during the movie that it's impossible to tell you all about them, there're also a lot of jokes that only the adults in the audience will understand like gargamel using an Ipad for the first time. It was also really fun that everything took place in Paris because you can recognize all the places and you know exatcly where they are.

Watching this movie made me proud knowing that all of this started in Belgium all these years ago.

Now You See Me.

I finally saw 'Now You See Me' in Belgium theaters and I absolutely loved it!!
I really like those movies where you're kept in the dark and blown away when you realize the truth, 'now you see me' is definitly that kind of movie because you'll never guess who the brain behind the four horsemen is and once you realize who it is you'll be amazed by the way he played it. I really liked that there's a whole story behind all the three shows and that they all lead to just one person and his revenge!

Another thing I really liked were all the magic tricks but what I liked even more was that they also explained all the tricks and that you can see how everything happend step by step. And ofcourse there's a love affair as well but that's not really the main part of the movie, it's just a very nice ending to the whole movie with their key sinking to the bottom of the seine...

Red Riding Hood!

Besides my passion for cooking I love watching movies, from horror to comedy to romantic movies to science fiction, I like them all so we decided to do a regular blog post about my favourite movies and new movies that are just in the cinema so the Movie of today is Red Riding Hood and we'll always pick a snack to eat during the movie and because it's the first movie post we'll go for the classic movie snack : Popcorn!

I'm not going to give a summary about every movie I saw because u can just read the whole plot on Wikipedia but I want to tell you what I personally liked about them. Red Riding hood is one of those movies that the unexpected happens because through the whole film you keep on suspecting different people to be the wolf but never the one that's actually him. Another thing I liked is that they go back to the actual fairytail of what we call in dutch ' Roodkapje', when Valerie is dreaming that her grandmother is the wolf they have the same conversation as in the fairytail whith the famous lines starting with : ' Grandmother why are your eyes that big? So I can see you better my dear' and at the end of the movie they also put rocks inside the death body of the wolf and threw it in the lake just as in the fairytail.

Another part I liked is that the whole story is actually based on the past of Valerie's mother because of her secret love for Henry's father the wolf killed Valerie's older sister and that's the start of the whole story because that's the moment that the wolf breaks its truce with the village people and that's also the reason why you never suspect for a minute who the wolf is because no one would murder his own child unless the child isn't really his...
For the people who haven't seen it yet I would really recommend it!!
